The “Dock’n Drive” application will change the way Android Smartphones are used while driving. 18 tiles can be set as short-cuts to frequently used apps, favorite contacts etc. In full screen mode a gorgeous digital speedometer, an innovative “compass ring” and media play buttons optimized for Pandora, Spotify, TuneIn, Slacker etc. are seen.

The “Dock’n Drive” application can be set to automatically launch and install as your new “dock home screen”. When inserting the HTC or Samsung handset into an iBOLT Dock Bluetooth is turned on, Wi-Fi turned off and screen time-out is disabled. (Leave "GPS" always on as it does NOT drain battery).

GPS and cell phone reception is optimized with the Smartphone positioned above the dashboard line. A Bluetooth hands-free solution is necessary when using the Dock’n Drive app.

-----------FUNCTIONALITY-----------

SPEEDOMETER:

The speedometer displays the speed in Kilometers per hour (KPH) or Miles per hour (MPH). It operates based on GPS signal and is generally highly accurate when driving. Switch between KPH and MPH in App settings. Touch on either speedometer to switch between small and full screen speedometer.

COMPASS:

The compass displays the GPS direction with three digits type “South 160” on the small screen. Full screen mode it is a “dial type” design that turns as the vehicle turns. The compass is satellite dependent and may not work when vehicle is standing still.

DIMMER:

The UI (User Interface) features a Dimmer” for brightness adjustment. Slide all the way to the left and the screen goes into “sleep mode” with a clock being displayed. Touch the screen and sleep mode is turned off. Great battery saving feature.

18 TILES TO CUSTOMIZE:

In addition to the Speedometer and Compass the main screen features 6 “tiles”. Each tile can be customized to feature your favorite Application, Direct dial, Link, Widget etc. There is a total of 3 pages available, each with 6 tiles. To change between page 1-3, simply swipe left/right or use arrows provided on UI.

To edit shortcuts:

Press the “Settings” button on the device and menu will show; “Edit shortcuts”, “Settings” and “Exit”. Select “Edit shortcuts”. Swipe left and right when inside “edit” screen to set the left or right 6 tiles.

Changing “Background color”, "Skin", “Scale Icon”, “Font Size” and “Font Color” settings is also possible in this menu. Once set, press the check mark “v” for confirmation of change.

BLUETOOTH AND WI-Fi ON/OFF SWITCH:

Bluetooth is automatically turned on and Wi-Fi is automatically turned on or off when inserting into the iBOLT car-dock. The settings can be permanent “on/off”, or temporary while the phone is in the car-dock.

AUTO ANSWER CALLS:

There is a setting for turning on “Auto answer” calls. Great safety feature when the driver wants to automatically answer incoming calls without having to touch the phone or their Bluetooth device.

SET DEFAULT MEDIA VOLUME:

Different application have different output sound level settings. This setting allows the user to set a default volume level so that the GPS output sound level is similar to the Music level, for example.

TACTILE TOUCH:

The setting for “Tactile” makes the phone vibrate when screen is touched.

SPEED SETTING:

This setting allows the user to change between Miles per hour (MPH) or Kilometers per hour (KPH).

APP AUTO RUN:

This allows the user to automatically start an application that runs in the background when the phone is “Docked”. Apps like “no texting while driving” is one example of such usage scenario.
